Lake Monster Blog: Late Innings Hurt Vermont in Loss to West Virginia

Old habits die-hard, and as the Vermont offense struggled to get base runners, the Vermont pitching staff clung to a 2-1 advantage. But in the eighth inning, Vermont’s habit of one bad inning on the mound finally struck.

A misplayed bunt attempt and a two-out, two-run double proved to be the difference, as Vermont fell to West Virginia 7-3 on Saturday night.
