The biggest question of the Patriots offseason is about the futures of Tom Brady and Jimmy Garoppolo. Will the Pats go with the older Brady and try to do the unprecedented and win with a more than 40-year-old quarterback, or will they boot out the franchise icon in favor of the young kid?
Well, maybe we got another clue to the Pats thinking on Thursday, when we learned that the team extended the contract of wide receiver Julian Edelman until at least 2019.
Why would the team extend Edelman, a 31-year-old receiver, into unprecedented territory himself, if they weren’t trying to appease Brady and show that he’s the guy moving forward?
