Report: JPP Out Rest of Regular Season

Often times, it isn’t always who the best team is at the beginning of the season, or even the end of the season. A lot of the time? It’s simply who the healthiest team is.

And for the 8-4 New York Giants, they suffered a big blow on Wednesday, learning that defensive end Jason Pierre-Paul would be out the rest of the regular season with a sports hernia.

For JPP, it’s been a comeback story considering he missed nearly half of last season after the fireworks incident that severely hampered his hand. He only totaled one sack a season ago but this year has seven sacks and three forced fumbles en route to being the No. 3 defensive end according to Pro Football Focus.

His loss will be a big one because now teams will able to give extra attention to Olivier Vernon and will be able to neutralize another pass rusher. Furthermore, a great pass rush helps out a secondary and now more pressure will fall on Janoris Jenkins, Eli Apple and Landon Collins.

For a team that I’m already not that high on, this is a big loss moving forward. The Giants take on the Cowboys this weekend.
