When I first arrived in Vermont this summer, one of the first big local stories that I heard was about the possible merging of Johnson State and Lyndon State College.
My first thought was, “Wow, what would the impact on students be? Would kids have to travel between campuses to get to class? Was a campus going to close?” And then I thought, “What about athletics? Does this mean that teams are going to combine as well?”
Well, we have since heard that the schools will be unifying and I had to find out what the impact would be on the athletes and coaches and facilities at each institution would be.
To answer all of that and more, we brought in Lyndon State Athletic Director Chris Ummer today to ‘Champlain Valley Game Night.’
