Because both players were selected in the first round of the 2017 draft, they come with a fifth-year option, so that is why the Giants had the choice to exercise the option on both players.
The Giants drafted Engram out of Ole Miss while acquiring Peppers in the trade that sent Odell Beckham Jr. to Cleveland.
The options also come with pay raises, as Engram will make $6 million in 2021. He has 12 touchdowns in his career. Peppers will make $6.8 million and has three career interceptions and three forced fumbles.
