Vermont City Marathon Postponed Until October

As the Coronavirus continues to sap us of all our sports and community events, another one has bitten the dust:

The Vermont City Marathon, originally scheduled for Memorial Day Weekend, has been postponed until October 25th.

From the article above:

“RunVermont said it’s offering registered runners several options. From the release:

Run in October: If you’re currently registered for the May race, we will automatically transfer your registration to October, and you will not need to do anything.
Deferral: This option will be offered for a subsequent year (2-year deferral for marathon runners, effective for 2021 & 2022 and a 1-year deferral for relay teams, effective for 2021).
Virtual: Marathoners may run a virtual race in a location of their choosing.
Donation: You may convert your registration fee to a tax-deductible donation, which RunVermont will direct toward our youth programs, which are the beneficiary of the proceeds of all RunVermont events. ”

More than 20,000 spectators take in the event every single year. We’ll discuss more on Friday’s edition of ‘The Huddle.’
