Per the report and the above article:
“..the Red Sox have been asking for two high-end prospects in exchange for Betts along with taking on David Price and at least a significant portion of the three years, $96 million left on the pitcher’s contract.
The ask would seemingly be too aggressive for almost any team (even the Dodgers) considering the acquiring club would be adding $59 million in payroll for 2020 alone (if Price’s full deal was taken on) with Betts in line to make $27 million for the coming season. They would also be getting the All-Star outfielder for just one guaranteed year.”
