The University of Vermont men’s basketball team suffered a 72-67 loss at the hands of Rider on Sunday night, falling in the championship of the Tip-Off Classic at Mohegan Sun in Connecticut.
UVM held a 12-point lead at halftime but couldn’t find any offense in the second half, going just 9-39 in the second half.

The loss drops UVM to 5-2 overall on the season. Stef Smith led the way with 21 points while Anthony Lamb had 14 and Robin Duncan had 13. The Catamounts were out-rebounded by six in the game and attempted 34 three-pointers in the loss.
They’ll take on Galladuet on Wednesday at Patrick Gym.
