The New York Yankees will open up play in the ALDS on Friday night against the Minnesota Twins and longtime Yankees stalwart CC Sabathia won’t be on the series roster, per manager Aaron Boone.

While Boone reports that Sabathia needed a cortisone shot on his shoulder, I (Brady Farkas) am wondering if the team just felt he couldn’t help them and came up with a reason for why he couldn’t be on the roster.
The Yankees will go with James Paxton in Game 1, Masahiro Tanaka in Game 2 and Luis Severino in Game 3.
