Sonny Gray was the Yankees big acquisition last year at the trade deadline, but overall in New York, he’s really struggled. He’s currently 1-2 for the Yankees with a 6.67 ERA and despite an encouraging last start, he’s been a disappointment for the first month of the season.
But have we started to figure out the problem for Gray? We brought in Sheryl Ring of Fangraphs.com who told us that Gray has stopped throwing his fastball and that could be the root of his problems.
