The University of Vermont men’s lacrosse team is heading to the America East Championship game for the second time in three years after beating No. 2 Stony Brook on Thursday by a score of 8-4.
The 12 wins for the Catamounts now are the most in program history. Ian MacKay, who was just drafted in the second round of the Major League Lacrosse Draft, scored five goals in the win.
The ‘Cats will take on Albany in the final on Saturday at noon. The Great Danes are 13-2 on the year and spent part of the year as the No. 1 ranked team in the country.
