Solder has battled cancer and his son continues to battle cancer so this was a decision based on family and health concerns for him.
Nate Solder likely qualifies for the "high-risk" opt out, which means he gets $350,000 for 2020 … which is really an advance off his 2021 salary. He was scheduled to make $6.5 million in salary in 2020.
Solder's contract now "tolls," which means he still has two years left.

So Solder does still have two years left on his deal.
