On Wednesday, Saints quarterback Drew Brees made headlines for all the wrong reasons when he told Yahoo! that he would not ever agree with someone who kneels for the National Anthem. Everyone from LeBron James to his teammate Malcolm Jenkins scolded him on social media, and that scolding extended to the Patriots as the McCourty brothers also tweeted at him.
This is a disgrace! To speak about your grandfathers as if there weren’t black men fighting next to them. Those men later returned to a country that hated them. Don’t avoid the issue and try to make it about a flag or the military. Fight like your grandfathers for whats right! https://t.co/qag3Igic3V

The McCourty’s run a joint social media account, so we’re not sure which one was responsible for this tweet in particular.
