MLB Readying a Return-to-Play Proposal

Finally… some bits of good news out of the pandemic with regards to sports. ESPN MLB Insider Jeff Passan reports that teams are starting to tell players to stay in good enough shape so that they can return to spring training soon.

While the Trevor Plouffe notion of returning to spring training on June 10th was shot down by most people, it actually appears that may be the real target date according to Passan.

From the article above:

“Although a significant number of hurdles remain and some industry leaders believe June and July return dates are overly optimistic, ownership’s approval of a plan and dialogue about specifics with the union would mark two vital steps toward baseball’s return from a season so far delayed six weeks by the coronavirus pandemic.”

We’ll have more on ‘The Huddle’ from 3-6 PM.
