The New England Patriots are picking up the team option on DB Jason McCourty, per a report from Ian Rapoport of NFL Network.
The #Patriots intend to pick up the contract option for veteran CB Jason McCourty, sources say. That would put him at nearly $4M for 2020. In February, @McCourtyTwins Jason version said on RapSheet + Friends, "I definitely plan on playing next year." https://t.co/0iWxG3RATf

Jason McCourty played in 12 games last year for New England and was part of the vaunted Patriots secondary. He registered one interception. The Pats picking up his option would lead one to believe that the team would have a better chance at re-signing his brother Devin in free agency as well.
Devin McCourty has spent his entire 10-year career with the Patriots and registered five interceptions a season ago.
