Streak Over! UVM Wins First Hockey East Game

The University of Vermont men’s hockey team ended its conference winless streak at a Hockey East record 26 games by beating Northeastern on Friday, 4-2, at Gutterson Fieldhouse.

For UVM, it’s the first conference win of the season to move to 1-17-4 and 4-22-6 overall.

The Cats got two goals from Alex Esposito and 29 saves from senior Stefanos Lekkas.

The two teams will play again tomorrow with the coverage starting at 6:30 on WVMT. This is the final home series for head coach Kevin Sneddon, who is retiring at the end of the season after 17 years.
