The centerpiece of the Red Sox trade for Mookie Betts is Dodgers OF Alex Verdugo. He’s long been one of the Dodgers top prospects and saw regular playing time in 2019 before injuring his oblique and back about 2/3 of the way through the season.
But since the acquisition, his character has come into question, from his hustle on the field to being involved in alleged sexual assault incident while in the minor leagues.
