Congratulations to University of Vermont men’s hockey junior standout goaltender Stefanos Lekkas on being named a candidate for the Hobey Baker Award, given to the best college hockey player in the country.

Lekkas is one of 83 nominees for the award and fans can vote until March 10th by clicking in the above link. The 83 will get paired down to 10 before a panel selects the winner.
Lekkas has helped the ‘Cats to an 8-11-1 record on the year and leads the country in saves per game at 32.1 and is second in the nation in total saves this season at 641.
The ‘Cats will travel to UMass-Lowell for a pair of matchups with the always nationally regarded Riverhawks. You can listen to Friday and Saturday’s contests on AM 620 WVMT.
