The New England Patriots, admittedly thin at the wide receiver position, have signed former first-round pick Corey Coleman to a one-year deal. The team waived Riley McCarron after Sunday’s win against the Texans and is now giving Coleman a chance to resurrect his career.
He was traded from the Browns to the Bills this offseason and then waived because he couldn’t learn the offense.
In 19 career games, Coleman has 56 catches for 718 yards and 5 TDs.
His best game last year was a 6-catch, 80-yard performance against Jalen Ramsey and the Jaguars.

And here’s some thoughts from the other side:
I give Coleman 4 weeks on that roster. He’s not a visual learner. Has to physically rep things to get it. Brady & Belichick will lose patience with time it will take him to get up to speed. Not cut out for Pats demanding environment. https://t.co/WNK5n5Gyv8

Coleman has amassed just one 65+ yard game since the second game of his rookie season. The Patriots play the Jaguars this Sunday at 4:25 PM.
