The New York Yankees spent the 2017 baseball season in a rare position — as the lovable underdogs. The team that wasn’t supposed to contend that did, thanks to a slugging rookie and a group of young talent made the team likable for the first time in 20 years. It was actually welcome for baseball.
But after the Yankees traded for Giancarlo Stanton this Monday and were rumored to be in the mix for several other notable names, the team quickly went back to what it was previously — veryt easily hateable.
