The Red Sox made made some nice moves near the trade deadline, acquiring Eduardo Nunez from the Giants and Addison Reed from the Red Sox, but they didn’t make the big splash that some fans desired. Maybe that’s because the Sox don’t have the prospects to complete such a deal, and maybe it’s because the GM was told not to ship out top prospects by the upper ownership.
Should Sox ownership have told Dave Dombrowski that he can’t trade top prospects? Is that fair and right? Is it the right business strategy for a team that is built to win now?
