Pats’ Amendola Likely Out Rest of Regular Season

Having just lost Rob Gronkowski for the season to back surgery, the Patriots are having to deal with another casualty to their receiving corps as wide receiver Danny Amendola is likely out for the remainder of the regular season.

Amendola suffered a high ankle sprain and will try to make sure he’s ready for the playoffs according to NFL reporter Ian Rapoport.

Amendola also serves as a punt and kick return option for Bill Belichick’s team and the Pats will now need to find some steady hands to handle those roles as well.

Amendola hasn’t played a ton this year in the pass game, but when he has, he’s valuable. Of his 23 catches on the season, he has 14 first downs and four touchdowns.
