Montgomery, VT native Elle Purrier is getting national attention at the University of New Hampshire as a member of the cross country and track & field teams.
Purrier just broke the America East Conference record in 5K at the A-East Conference Championships this past weekend with a time of just over 16 minutes.
For comparison, I ran a 5K this summer and I think I got a 38 minute time or something.
Purrier talked about competing in the fall, winter and spring seasons and talked about what is next for her and her Wildcat teammates during the fall season. She also talked about competing in the U.S. Olympic trails this year for the Rio Olympics.
Purrier tried out for the Olympics in the steeplechase so we talked about what exactly that event entails and we spoke about what she does when she comes back home to Vermont.
