Pedroia a Finalist For Gold Glove

While the Red Sox wish they were still playing during the MLB Playoffs, the Sox are continuing to get recognition for their accomplishments on the field this season.

Last night, David Ortiz was honored as the winner of the Hank Aaron Award for the American League, and today, we hear that Dustin Pedroia is a finalist for the American League Gold Glove at second base.

Pedroia has four Gold Gloves already and committed just six errors this season and boasted a .990 fielding percentage. Pedroia is going up against Robinson Cano of the Mariners and Ian Kinsler of the Tigers at second base.

While Cano had the highest fielding percentage of the two, Pedroia and Kinsler tied for the league lead in defensive runs at second base with 12.

The winners of the Gold Glove awards will be announced on Nov. 8.
