We’ve been on the story all week: The ECAC West is breaking up at the beginning of the next women’s hockey season (2017-18) and that leaves Plattsburgh State without a full conference. A full conference allows you an automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament and if the Cardinals cannot fill a conference, they will lose that in time.
How will Plattsburgh and others go about handling this new development? We found out from head coach Kevin Houle today on “Champlain Valley Game Night.” We also found out how the Cardinals got to the top of the sport (they’ve won three straight National Championships), and we asked which was harder, getting to the top, or staying at the top?
I also had some fun with the Plattsburgh-Oswego rivalry!
